For Business and Reseller accounts, AIT provides promotion codes for additional IP addresses. For self-managed accounts, IP addresses may also be purchased and installed to your Co-located or Dedicated Server. The Internet’s IP addresses are not especially user-friendly for finding things, so domain names are used in parallel with IP addresses. The relationship between IP addresses and domain names is managed by a domain name system (DNS), a hierarchical database distributed to servers all over the Internet. The root is located at the top of the hierarchy, followed by the upper domain layer. The database root is implemented in a limited number of root servers, the majority of them located in the US. The upper domain layer is normally either a country or an organization description like .com, .net, .org.
